Nomadic Gathering brings strangers together in celebration of community through unique pop-up experiences. The events center on connection—connecting with chefs, creators, and most of all, with each other. Nomadic Gathering is able to transport guests to amore simple time in which friends and strangers alike are fully present to enjoy, to imbibe, to ask questions, and to discover.
Nomadic Gathering strives to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed and leaves feeling inspired.

Founder, Elysha Beckerman, and I kicked off our partnership with thoughtful conversations about her mission. I prioritized understanding what she hoped guests would feel before, during, and after experiencing a Nomadic Gathering dinner party.
From there, we narrowed down the themes that were most important to visualize in the brand and promotional materials: nostalgia, authenticity, warmth and sophistication.
I used these core ideas and inspiration collected from Elysha and the parties themselves to create a brand and material package to promote and support her first 2023 gathering since pausing the series due to Covid-19.

Nomadic Gathering is focused on community, and was thereforeimportant to create a logomark that reflects that ethos. We landedon a hand drawn scripted nameplate that feels personal while maintaining an elevated authenticity. We spent numerous rounds to nail down the perfect combination of flow, personality and balance.
We built a color palette inspired by nature, whole ingredients, comfortand warmth. These are the same colors that inspired the dinner party styling and photo library.
Nomadic Gathering was partly inspired by my client’s desire to recreate the tradition of Sunday Italian dinners with her family. When selecting typography, I loved the idea of combining old and new:a reflection of traditional values (Sunday dinner) met by a modern approach (a dinner party for strangers in New York City).
Combining a classic serif with a modern sans not only tells the storyof old meeting new, it creates an interesting texture: a medley thatnods to different personalities coming together harmoniously, likea party.
Creating a double sided menu added an element of surprise and dose of play. The “front” is a quote that sets the tone for the dinner’s theme: rebirth and transformation. The curve is a subtle nod to the “n”in “nomadic gathering.”
The back hosts Chef Robbie Guevarra’s menu for the evening, featuring his perspective on Filipino cuisine through the creative lens of various New York communities. The uncomplicated design allows the five course descriptions to shine, supporting my client’s intention of celebrating simple, wholesome ingredients.
